Heavenly Father, we come today to thank you. Thank you for making this great nation possible. We know that the blessings of liberty come from your hand.
We are thankful for the blessing of freedom you have given the people of this land.
Thank you for the wisdom you gave our founding fathers when they created this great nation.
We are one nation under God, and we thank you for the gift of religious liberty. Let me never take these blessings for granted.

Acts 17:26: Protection of Borders
From one man, he made all the nations so that they should inhabit the whole earth, and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.
Gracious God, we need your protection around our borders. We need your protection against the spirits that want to bring us down. Since the birth of a nation, countries have been trying to destroy us.
This country’s founders knew there would always be a need to protect our borders.
Today, our borders are being attacked. We pray that you will protect them.

Isaiah 54:17: Protection from attacks
No weapon formed against you will prosper, and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.
Almighty God, protect us from attacks inside our country. Too often, we hear of terrorist attacks and mass shootings. We have forgotten that you are the one who provides protection.
We need you to grant us peace during this next year.
God, please stand against our enemies. Stop their plans. Give us the safety and security you want your people to live in.

Psalm 102:15: National leaders
The nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
Dear God, today we bring our national leaders to your throne. Our government leaders need wisdom and knowledge. We ask that you bring us Godly Leaders who will make a Godly decision today that will lead our country into peace.
We pray that they will make wise decisions. Let us never forget to pray for all those in positions of authority.
These men and women are the government of the people, and we need them to be wise and full of integrity.
Help us make the right choices when we choose our political leaders.
The leaders that are chosen may be filled with a lust for power. Surround them with people who will give them wise counsel and help them keep our nation strong, brave, and free.

Have you not put a hedge around him, his household, and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
God of families, on this special day, we will be gathering with our families. We ask that you give us quiet lives where we can enjoy our time together.
As families gather for Independence Day celebrations, we ask that you keep each gathering a place of peace without any fighting. We also ask for protection from accidents around the pool and campfires.
As we gather, Lord, to celebrate the blessings of freedom you have given us, keep us safe and loved.

2 Samuel 22:2-4: Bring our Soldiers home safely
The Lord is my rock, fortress, and savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, who saves me from violence.
O God, our soldiers need your help. We ask that you bring our soldiers home. We are so thankful for the armed forces’ sacrifices to keep us safe. Since our nation’s independence, our soldiers have kept us free and safe. These brave men and women need your protection and your love.
Each of the citizens of the United States of America owes their joy of freedom to these great men and women.
Our sons and daughters are stationed all over the world. We can sometimes forget that you are the king of all the nations.
As we pray for our soldiers, remind us that you are there with them what whatever part of the planet they are on.

Jeremiah 29:7: Peace in America
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city where I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it because if it prospers, you will prosper.
Lord God Almighty, we ask today for peace in America. There was a time when we were a beacon of Hope to the nations. But today, many have fallen away from peace, making the world full of hate. God, we need the hearts of a free people to turn back to God.
We know that you are the God of peace. Only through your peace will we be in this good land.
Each American citizen can live in peace when we allow the God of peace to rule this nation.

Now I plead with you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and judgment.
Eternal God, we ask today for unity and strength in our country. Please let the Christians be brave enough to let their light shine out to their neighbors. We live in a time when the hearts of Americans need a healing touch.
We live in a great country. But today, many people seem to think this is a bad country. We need the unity of the Holy Spirit, so we ask that you send us your Spirit.
We need unity and strength in our daily lives, so God, we ask for your divine guidance as we interact with our fellow citizens. Help us do our part to bring about unity.

O my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. What we have heard and known is what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.
Dear Lord, today we are praying for the next generation. We know that if we want a better future, we need the next generation to make the love of Jesus a priority in their lives.
God reminds us that it is our responsibility to lead the next generation.
May God give us the wisdom to raise a generation that will serve and honor you. Give the next generation an increase in faith and strength. We need you, God, to keep our next generation pure.
In a world of social media influencers, there are so many temptations. We need you to give us wisdom as we try to lead them.
Only through you will we have the examples we need to lead the next generation.

Proverbs 14:34 Healing from sins and wrongs from our country’s leaders
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.
O Lord God, we need your spiritual healing in this country. This country has made some bad choices in the past. From slavery to Japanese internment camps, there are many examples of past sins.
God, we need to find a way to grant forgiveness to the people from our past and be ready to live a life void of bitterness.
We can not change the past, but we can change today. Let us live a life of righteousness so that our nation will be exalted.
We want to be an example to other nations of how to be a country of integrity and honor.
But God, we can only do this through your grace and mercy.
