Professional truck drivers are the heartbeat of our nation. According to the American Trucking Associations, there are 3.5 million truck drivers in the US.
As they head out on the open road, they face many dangers. They spend long hours on the road.
I have a good friend who has a truck driver husband.
I know from speaking with her that the days away from her husband are hard. Her truck drivers prayer is always to come home to his family.
I know that the family has struggles while their husband is away.
Our drivers face many challenges on the road. If you have ever driven along the major highways of the united states you have seen the billboards pushing drivers towards sinful activities.
Our drivers have to pass these billboards all day long every day.
It is clear that our truck drivers need our prayers of protection.
Here are nine examples of a truck driver’s prayer with Bible verses that you can use as your trucker’s prayer.
Luke 4:10: Safety with each mile
He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully.

With each mile that they travel, grant them your divine help.
Help them find clean truck stops where they can find adequate rest so they can have a safe journey and make it to their destination and back home safely.
Help our drivers avoid each danger on the road and, mile by mile, drive home without any accidents.
Help our driver have good health.
We pray for safety with each mile they drive in Jesus’ name. Amen

Dear God, our truck drivers need guidance as they travel our roads. Give them faith and strength as they travel.
Give them divine protection against other road users who may not be driving properly.
There are many potential dangers on the road. We are asking you today to guide our drivers and give them a safe passage home to their families.
Sometimes, as our drivers face construction zones they have to take detours. Help them to find the correct way back to their highway they are traveling on.
Grant our drivers this guidance on the road.
We ask for guidance on the road, in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen
Proverbs 6:20: Family
My son, keep your father’s command; don’t abandon your mother’s instruction.
Dear father, Today, we bring the truck driver’s family to your throne. Give them a financial breakthrough, and provide for their needs. The whole family needs your help.
As our drivers are away, the family is home without their father.
We know that you are the great provider, and we ask that you provide safety, peace, and wellness in the home.
The parent who is left home can often feel like a single parent.
We are praying for a hedge of protection around the marriage. They need to know that they love each other.
Help the parent who is home alone to not feel lonely.
Put people into their lives who will help them with the day-to-day chores of family life. And when they reunite again, let them feel the love of their marriage partner.
While our drivers are away from their family, protect their mental health. Remind them they are not alone.
We plead the blood of Jesus over this family and ask that you keep them save and unified in your name. Amen.
1 Corinthians 10:13: Temptations on the road
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
O Lord, our drivers face many temptations; they need your help to overcome them. Protect them from the spirit of temptations.
There are many billboards tempting our drivers into dark places. As our driver arrives at his next rest stop, give him the power to avoid the people tempting him into a life of sin.
In moments of loneliness, help them to avoid the temptations of lust, pornography, gambling, and other sins the devil will throw at him.
As Satan attacks our drivers, remind him of Bible verses that will help him to avoid sin.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Father God, our drivers need patience on the road. There are times when things seem impossible, please give them the patience they need to get through them.
Help our drivers to have patience while they look for parking spaces, sit in traffic, or deal with difficult clients.
Give our drivers a humble heart as they face difficult situations and a safe journey home.
Give them patience when other drivers cut them off. When they are stuck in traffic, give them the patience to remain calm.
When they arrive at truck stops, help them find places to park, and when they can’t find a place to park, give them patience.
I know it is hard to find parking when you have a 50-foot transport truck.
God, we ask for patience on the road in the name of our gracious Father, Amen.
James 1:12: Pressures to make Deliveries
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him
We come to our Lord Jesus Christ, and we offer you this trucker’s prayer, asking for help with the huge pressure to make deliveries.
Long-haul trips can be hard, and the pressure to get the delivery to arrive on time can cause some delivery drivers to make poor choices.
Please put a hedge of protection around the goods that are being delivered.
Let the drivers know they can trust you to keep the goods safe, so they will arrive in perfect shape.
Remind our drivers to trust in you, God, to keep the goods safe, so that the pressure will be off the driver.
While the driver’s hard work is important, help them to remain calm and still reach their goals in the workplace.
Open doors of opportunity for driving jobs in the transportation industry that will be less stressful.
Help them find driving jobs where tight goals are not an issue and they can drive in peace and comfort.
We ask for freedom from the pressure to make deliveries in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Assist them on the road. Help them focus on the road, and avoid all the problems on the road.
Keep our drivers safe and the road safe for all the other drivers on the road.
When our drivers are forced to drive through inclement weather, they need to focus even more.
We ask that as our dear friend travels this long journey, they will focus on the road and the job and avoid distractions that come his way.
We pray for clarity and focus away from distractions while our drivers are driving, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed
Dear God, We are asking that you help our drivers with the maintenance of their trucks. Help them find any problems with the truck before it is to late.
Give them proper maintenance workers who are trustworthy.
Our drivers carry tunes of freight and they need trucks that are reliable.
We ask that you keep their trucks running smoothly so they can do their job with ease.
We pray this in your name, Amen.
