I am a mother at heart and have prayed endless prayers to God. My mind has played many tricks on me of what to say in my times of suffering.
My heart aches, and my words are jumbled together, lost in confusion. May God hear your prayers today as I have written what the Holy Spirit has placed on my heart for you.
Hebrews 11:11: Trust Sarah’s story in starting a family
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because shea] considered him faithful who had made the promise.
O’ Lord what may seem impossible to some is nothing compared to what you have fulfilled in others’ lives. The story of Sarah is hope for so many mothers, including my dear friend who continues to lose her babies in early trimesters.
She’s growing weary and aching with a heart of loss and devastation. I can only uplift her by being present and loving on her with your promises. I know this season is beyond bear for her, but I declare Sarah’s story her own with the good news of you.
Despite the losses, you are a faithful God, and we still see you as such. Your power continues to mesmerize us in the glory you bring to our lives. We are clinging to a hope that we know will come. As Sarah lost hope, you gave her redemption to become a mother.
Regardless of nonbelievers questioning her capability to hold and grow a healthy child in her aging years, you still blessed her for what she longed to become. I claim this over my close friend today, the womb of Sarah. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Luke 1:13 : God hears your prayers for pregnancy
But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.
Lord Jesus, I lift my wife and unborn child to you. At first, we were sporadically trying without intentionality. We thought it would happen quickly and only a little work would be needed. You, of course, had other plans for our road to bearing children.
We were never meant to understand the lessons you have set out for us to learn during our heartache, loss, and confusion. I am not afraid because I know my prayers are being heard by a God who answers and works at perfect time.
I am leaning on you to hear the hurt and pain we have to exceed your plan and be grateful that you have not denied us this blessing. May we learn all you have set for us to gain this season? I want to take advantage of everything that comes from you.
I know our time will be here soon with our second child in our arms and us rejoicing in the promise of your word.
You have made sure we are not alone. Your passages in the bible mark that even before us fertility issues could not stop you.
You have fulfilled miracles for those to bear children. Grace us with a blessing that can only come from you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Genesis 30:22 : God gave Rachel a baby
Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive.
Dear Jesus, I’m standing on my knees, pleading for an answer I want to receive. What may be timeless to you as a miracle worker seems to be a clock wrapped around my neck of my time vanishing before I can bear children.
I feel hopeless and hurt that others around me are effortless to carry children while I weep that nothing I do will bring me this.
I’m hurting, a pain that very few know and some will never meet. I can see now the testimony you have for me as many women in the bible before me.
Please remember me as you remembered Rachel blessing her with a child she yearned for years. May I never grow jealous of others, but hold your promise for me tighter. I know you have heard every cry between my prayers and even the tiny hymns I recite over me.
I know that one day, I, too, will conceive. You are working behind the scenes, making a plan for me to welcome the day I see two lines in front of me. What a day that will be when I see your promise in front of me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Isaiah 40:30-31 : Prayer he will give you comfort when getting pregnant is hard
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Dear Father, this time around has beaten and worn me down. We are on our second round of IVF, and I thought this time would be it. I am at a loss for words on my prayer request, so I’ll speak whatever flows from my mouth.
I’m questioning many things, but you are not one of them. I am asking about the process and how much pain one can endure before giving up. Please give me the strength to continue regardless of the time it takes to get where I have pleaded. I will walk and not grow faint in a time of heartache and desperation.
May your strength bring me back to my feet, walking a narrow path where you only surround me. I only care to hear your voice and the hope you get me.
I’m waiting on you, Lord, to reach me through your words and the light of grace that always washes away my pain. I cannot control tomorrow, but I trust the plans you have for me.
I will not run away from this. Instead, I will run into your arms for the comfort and strength I need on this journey I plan to overcome and conquer. My wings are spread, and my burden has become light. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
The most important thing is that God hears your heart without words even coming out of your mouth. These prayers will soon testify to God’s faithfulness in your brokenness. You will soon be living out the very prayers you cried out.
Proverbs 3:5 – Prayer for you to trust in His plans to help you conceive
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
Father God, I’m placing my trust in you. I cannot give way to my understanding because my reason will never compare to your plan for me. I need some clarification, looking for answers when I need to look for you solely.
No correct answer will fill the gap weighing on me and pressing on my nerves to break down and remain there. I am open to receiving your plans for me and bringing me through the hardships standing before me.
Let my time of prayer be filled with your overwhelming love and peace. May clarity be washed over me as my mind clears from fasting and spending dedicated time with you. All I can do is pray and give you all of my questions.
I become angry and lost when I dig too deep into my thoughts. My heart aches as I run to you for the safety and healing of a wound I just received for the first time. All of my trust is in you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Mark 11:24 – Prayer for God to help you have a baby
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Lord Jesus, I live in prayers that once seemed out of reach. I can tell my story that you receive every request and answer every plea. Yet every new prayer causes me to flee and reflect on the God I serve. My mind is fogged, so I’m fasting to hear you clearly since it’s been a while, and that’s on me.
I’m kneeling, pleading the same prayer I’ve been anxious to receive since my fertility journey. I will soon be a happy mother of children and that hope pushes me to continue.
I will one day thank you for this same prayer request at the top of my list. I can now see what I have asked for as a childless woman currently. My child looks up at me in one arm as tears swell from seeing God in her precious eyes.
You have blessed me with every prayer that always seemed out of reach. I cannot thank you enough for this day that I will soon live reflecting on all the goodness you give.
A light of hope has risen inside me, knowing I will soon receive what I ask for. With every fiber within me, I will soon have a little baby inside of me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Romans 5:3-5 – Prayer to keep your hope to get pregnant
Not only so, but wea] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Lord God, I seem crazy to most, rejoicing in mourning. My suffering does not define you but allows me to shift my attitude to the hope you give.
I am not defeated. Instead, I am in a season of molding myself to become who you want me to be in due time. Unfortunately, it takes drastic measures for significant changes to evolve within me.
It could be the realization that I cannot control every aspect of my life. Yet my Father can bring me out of dark places and shine his light on the hope I can almost reach in my silent prayer.
I am not ashamed of putting my hope in you, the giver of life. You are not behind the darkness that is taking place in my life. It would be easy to grow angry and place blame on a God who controls it all.
Yet where would that get me putting false blame on you when all you’ve given me is hope and unconditional love.
Your love has been constantly poured into me despite that growing empty feeling—the love you give remains and comforts that sharp pain that I have prayed to go away.
No correct answer given to me will bind up the open wound that has enlarged over time. My endurance has grown, as well as the tolerance of bad news that seems to come with longing for a child.
My character has only evolved into a perspective of beauty that suffering has allowed me to see face to face with. Holy Ghost, bless me with your presence to become who I need to be before I become a mother. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Psalm 37:4 – Be Patient, You will get pregnant
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Dear Heavenly Father, only you know my pure heart’s desires. I have longed to carry a first child since I was a little girl. We have just decided that we are ready to build our family. I am giving it to you now with a powerful tool that only you have, hoping it is smooth.
I don’t want to overthink the what-ifs, but you know my thoughts even when I’m too scared to speak them to anybody else. I will delight myself in you in a difficult season. That is always where I find who I am in you.
I am throwing myself into the word of God’s promise; all you have proclaimed is mine. As you have asked, I am ready to become a mother and raise my child. It is your plan for me to build up your kingdom in my home by introducing a large family.
I will serve you in everything I do, from my kids to my husband, in welcoming and entering motherhood as a new step in Christ. Thank you for blessing me with my heart’s desires as yours. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Psalm 130:5 – Prayer to not lose hope
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
Dear Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, my soul is in a state of rest as I peacefully wait for my unanswered prayers. I trust that my waiting season has a purpose and a plan that I can’t see. I’m cautious to ease my mind and thoughts to prevent the trouble it has caused me.
I will not go down that path of my mind playing tricks on me against the God of life. Your word is the truth I stand on and reach to for assurance. I am purposeful in allowing your truth to lead my emotions instead of the bad habit I once had, which was vice versa.
May you reign me back when others’ comments lead me to spiral and believe that my doubts may become true. I rebuke any negative talk around me or that attempts to come out of my mouth. My hope is found in your word that allows me to rest and shift my focus back on the precious gift of life.
The wait is worth my faith being built up and becoming rock solid. I will wait on you with my high hopes that one day, I will be standing with a healthy baby in my arms, thanking you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Psalm 147:3 – Prayer He will comfort you during this hard time
He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
Dear God of goodness, heal my broken heart that you had no part in wounding. You have watched me open my heart to the possibility of seeing two pink lines on a stick. Yet every time I see that one line shine out, I am broken inside.
It tears a piece of me I didn’t know I had left, and the sting feels as sharp as that first one. Something inside me screams to keep going, and I repeat this process. I’m praying for a better outcome and some strength to be refilled back inside of me.
Please give me what I can’t give myself, which is your truth. In your gospel, I see glimpses of hope and strength in the crevices of my pain. You have healed every broken heart; somehow, mine feels new to the touch of what you will do with it.
Bind up my wounds with your words as you slowly give me life back to a place of hope and healing.
I am resting on your comment as I find the strength to keep dreaming of one day becoming a mother. I can see it now clear as day. Maybe that’s you shining your light back onto me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Psalm 128:3 – Prayer that you will have a wonderful family one day
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Dear Christ Jesus, my wife and I are in our waiting season. Everyone around us has welcomed children into their families, and here we are, living in an empty home. We bought this home with plenty of rooms to hold a child every few years.
It’s a difficult time to visit those empty rooms with the visions and dreams we once shared with them. I am fighting a battle alongside my wife that continues to stretch us thin while we remain intact on your creative power. We’re holding onto your mercy and grace.
May we soon live a new life of the promises you gave us in Psalm. My wife will become fruitful to bear us as many of our own children as we once dreamed. Our children will quickly gather around the table, squeezing to fit as we discuss the miracles of God.
We believe in Jesus Christ just as much as we trust in bearing children after a long journey of standstill. Shine your light on us, Father. We continue to glorify you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
