Bible verses before sleeping at night
Proverbs 6:22
Dear Father, I trust that you watch my every step and place your angels encamped around me when I lay down to rest. I know that you are with me awake, asleep, and during my movements. I am protected by you even when my guard is resting.
I have a sound mind knowing you are there before I ask for your presence. Let my sleep be peaceful with your right hand. My days are filled with the sound of your voice speaking the right path for me. In Jesus’ name, let your will be done for my life. Amen.
Psalm 3:5
Today was not my best day Heavenly Father. It is my night prayer for nights when I fear falling asleep. I ask for a new day to be presented once I fall into this deep sleep. I know that a good night’s rest is what I need to prepare me for a clean slate filled with tomorrow’s glory.
O’ Lord, your support is what I stand on to bring me out of my funk. There is nothing that you won’t wipe away to allow me a fresh start. Today’s trouble will not trap me in an anxious heart and state of mind.
I need God’s presence to clear me from what I cannot seem to let go of at this time. Please, Father, replace these ugly emotions with your beauty. Amen.
Psalm 121:1-4
Father God, you do not rest on my behalf, yet always put me down to rest. Your glorious truths have gotten me right where I want to be. I lay down in peace, knowing I am in the shelter of the highest.
Good things are taking place in my life, and as grateful as I am, I do not want to shy away from you, Lord. I tend to neglect you during my morning prayer and especially on the days of my life when things are going right.
O’ Lord, not even my single foot slips at your right hand. You are that good and meticulous in your care for me. Please remind me that you have made them possible, even on my good days.
I am sitting on one of my best days and still need you, God. Amen.
John 14:27
Christ Jesus, I need your peace. My life seems out of control, and it’s hard to accept. My worries have no stance. Your steadfast love is promised to me.
The house of the Lord is where I reside. I leave my fear at the door of your Kingdom, for I am untouchable in my home. It is my human understanding that your peace is still with me even during my most challenging times.
Your bliss gives me a choice to react in a way that may trouble others. Not every situation deserves a reaction when I am walking with you, Lord God.
O’ Lord, remove this anxiety of my heart from not being in control. I have trouble handing it over to you and allowing you to do your will for my life. These bad habits get me nowhere and, more times, not in worse situations.
I pray for my old ways to be pushed into the past. I no longer want the world but God’s will and means for my life. Amen.
Philippians 4:6-7
My prayer requests are filled with asking for answered prayers. My worries get tangled in the process of consistency with my devotion to my goodnight prayer. Quiet times spent with you, Lord, are vital to hearing your soothing voice that eases my anxious heart. This process is crucial to hand it all over to you genuinely.
The peace of God gives me many things, including a conscious free mind in my decisions. I cannot dwell on things that are out of my control and what will come from any situation. I ask for peaceful dreams knowing that you are already in power regardless of whether I resist it at times.
I lift every decision I make, and your right-hand guide me in the direction it takes me. When I second guess myself, I will listen to your Word. You often disrupt me to see that another way is possible. I am not always correct; only prayer can wipe away my stubbornness. Please be with me during my waiting season. Amen.
Bible verses to end the day
Psalm 23:1-3
I know that I lack for nothing, Christ Jesus. You fill me back up with your steadfast love for the coming day. You replenish my spirit from the green pastures you access for me to lay. I am blessed beyond reasoning to have a sound mind to hear from you directly.
My prayer life has made every special dream possible. The presence of the Lord is seen through every decision and action I take. I have been blessed beyond compare by his right hand. I am loved, favored, and protected by my Heavenly Father.
My darkest valleys have led me right here, filled with the peace of God. He has offered me so much in abundance from being faithful to Him. You deserve all the glory, Father, and I thank you for the long life ahead of me. Your peace resides in me from my state of restfulness in being in your presence. Amen.
Romans 8:28
Dear God, I know that you are working even when my life feels at a standstill. Your great love fills me with joy that I yearn to share with others. I have been called into my purpose to speak sweet words to others so that they serve God’s presence when I walk in.
My purpose is in you; I know my life is unfolding as you planned. The best place I can be is walking in my truth alongside you—your goodness peaks into my darkest valleys. Your grace is sufficient for me to stand on and shout your name from the rooftops.
I will continue to pour out my praise to the gracious Lord who never fails me, never stops giving His goodness and refills me with his steadfast love. You are a good God; even above my blessings, it’s just who you are. Thank you for every gift, calling, and answer you have so mercifully handed me. Amen.
Isaiah 26:3
My prayer life does not always look this great, filled with inspirational words and cries to the Lord. You know, dear God, that I have not even had a prayer life many times. I get so consumed with the season I am in that I will only look for you when my worries creep back in. You have shown me time and time again that my beloved sleep suffers from this.
Christ Jesus, I need you in my good times and even more against my darkest valleys. My mind can trick me into not needing such a gracious God. I trust you, Heavenly Father, and your promise remains the same. In Jesus’ name, keep my life in your perfect peace. Amen.
Ephesians 4:26-27
Dear Lord, my anger tends to get the best of me. I allow harmful words to come out of my mouth and reach others. I do not know that person, and I rebuke their presence and control over me. In those moments, I feel trapped by the spirit of fear within myself.
I ask Father God that you wipe away any hate or animosity I am holding. I do not want to give this another thought because a new coming day is approaching. Help today to kick a bad habit that I lean into in my times of anger. Nothing good ever comes from it, and I stand ashamed of that part of me. In the name of the Lord, I will overcome all my anger from every direction. Amen.
Jeremiah 29:11
It is my evening prayer to release the control I hold onto during my days. I am anxious to get to the great places you have promised me. The best place I can be is right where you have me lying in green pastures. In this, I overlook the breathtaking view in front of me.
I am thrilled for the coming days about serving Jesus Christ. The Father of the heavenly lights has paved my life in detail. The days of my life are not my own but yours, God. All the good things I have are solely from you. In Jesus’ name, replace my anxious heart with contentment for where I am. Amen.
Prayer for sleep and healing
Proverbs 3:24
O God, my child is struggling with nighttime and the fear that it brings him. I ask that you place your hand over his anxious heart. He is newly introduced to God’s presence and believes he is only safe through my physical presence. A mother’s love makes me want to fix some things that only you can improve.
I need your promised holy spirit to fill within him. Your guardian angels will be on watches of the night, protecting this child from any evil planning an attack on him. The children of God cannot be touched when saying this goodnight prayer. In Jesus’ name, fight what I cannot see and calm thoughts I cannot hear. Amen
Matthew 6:34
O’ Lord, my anxious heart is affecting the quality of my sleep. I’m unsure when I fall asleep while lying down with my eyes shut and thoughts running around. My evening prayer is to leave every reflection, concern, and issue in your hands.
The work of our hands needs rest, just as my frantic mind does. Today’s trouble can wait for tomorrow when I dwell on my productivity from my day. Peaceful dreams await me when I let go of what I could have done better today. In Jesus’ name, please heal the part of me that desires perfection over peace of mind. Amen.
Psalm 4:8
O’ God, sweet sleep is found when I lie down in your presence. The spirit of fear cannot threaten me when I say my night prayer. The blood of Jesus has given me a sound mind from enemy attacks. My constant prayers have the present help available to me.
The shadow of the Almighty covers me during my most vulnerable state; laid down and eyes closed. You protect me from things I am clueless about at times. I thank you for allowing my restful state to be in peaceful sleep. Amen.
1 Peter 5:7
Dear Lord, my beloved, sleep has been far from my nights. I question at night my decision-making during the day. I am anxious that I may be making wrong decisions and straying further from you. O’ Lord, you can take away all of my anxiety.
My quiet times with you are just what I need to clear my mind. Your great love overpowers any of my doubts and fears. I am holding onto the truth of God with this simple prayer. Amen.
Matthew 11:28-30

The great way you fill my breath with lungs; you do this with my weariness. The Word of truth has directed me to a new day with a new attitude. Your great way of speaking the right words to me makes the change I need. I am all yours. Amen.
