INTRODUCTION

Pregnancy which is an act of conceiving a child from an embryo state until the state where the child is ready to leave the womb of the mother is a process that occurs usually for 9 months. It is a process of keeping to the covenant between God and mankind that states “multiply and fill the earth”.

It involves a man and a woman who are legally bound together as one through the covenant of marriage as husband and wife. In this word of enlightenment, you’ll come to the knowledge of what the Holy Bible and the word of God says about Pregnancy.

This topic will be backed by powerful bible verses  under a few sub headings for a clearer understanding. For the word of God reminds us that lack of sufficient knowledge of God leads to death in Hosea 4:6 which say “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children”.

This is a reminder about the vast amount of knowledge contained in the Holy Bible that should be consumed in the secret place for you to access God’s promises and  live a life of fulfillment on earth.

What does God say about having a baby?

God gave humanity a promise about having a baby on earth. From the beginning of creation before the fall of man, God entrusted in mankind the power and authority of dominance over the earth and all that was created.

This can be seen in the book of Genesis 1:28 which say “God blessed them and said to them, be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

God single handedly made it clear to mankind that he has the responsibility to be fruitful, increase in number, fill and dominate the earth. This was the sole reason why Adam’s wife Eve was created. Because recreation requires the coming together of two (a man and a woman) who become one by a covenant through marriage.

Also, mankind is reminded to be responsible parents to their children by training them in the way of the Lord according to God’s  in Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it”.

This is a reminder by the Lord God to parents about their responsibility of being accountable of their children’s welfare on earth.

This implies that human beings are given the sole responsibility on earth to bear children at the perfect time. This is a promise from God that every woman on Earth has the fruit of the womb which contradicts every belief of a barren woman.

Human beings (man and woman) are not created by God to be barren according to the word of the Lord. This is because the kingdom of God according to Christ Jesus is ordained to bear good fruits.

How do you pray for pregnancy?

The word of God according to the holy bible teaches how to pray for pregnancy through the life of Hannah who was known as a barren woman. 1 Samuel 1:1- 20 shows a perfect example of how you ought to pray to God for pregnancy as an expectant mother most especially at times when you are being mocked and disrespected by other people as a barren woman/man.

For years Hannah prayed wrongly because she focused so much on God blessing her with a child so she could finally prove those that mocked her wrong. God was not interested in the prayer because it was borne out of a self desire.

A wonderful miracle occurred immediately she changed her approach of prayer to God first by thanking him and then assuring God that her child was going to be offered to him as a vessel to the advancement of the works of the kingdom.

God’s word says she became a pregnant woman and in due time Hannah delivered of a little baby boy named Samuel. This simply means whenever you go to God in prayer, you should always remind him that if he blesses you, you will in turn use that which he has blessed you with to carry out his work on earth.

Hannah didn’t just stop at receiving the blessing of Samuel but she kept to her promise to God that Samuel was going to be offered as a servant to the temple.

1 Samuel 2: 1-10 highlights the prayer of Hannah after she got her first pregnancy, gave birth and offered her male child as a servant to God in the temple and this act of thanksgiving prompted God to bless her with more children after Samuel making her a joyful mother of children.

This simply means when you go to God in prayer, you have to go to him with a thankful heart and also keep your focus on God. Also having faith in God believing that after praying to him that he has granted your wish is an act that compelled God’s love on Hannah that should be emulated.

What does the bible say about babies being a blessing?

Following bible verses in the bible, babies are a blessing to humanity. Having a little baby is like having your heart walking around outside of your body.

According to the God’s promises in the bible, children are a sign of good things and a show of the love of God to his own people. It is known that children are a seed we send into a future that we will never see.

This simply means children are a perfect gift from God to proof of our existence on earth. The joy and happiness experienced with the thoughts of human beings on earth becoming parent gives them a sense of fulfillment knowing that their lives are being blessed most especially at their old age.

Psalm 127:3 “Children are a heritage of the Lord, offspring a reward from him” reminds us that children are a reward from God to us as a blessing for keeping to his commandments.

This is why a family without a little baby finds it difficult to be happy because there is a vacuum left to be filled and babies are the fillers of that vacuum irrespective of how blessed this family is in other areas of life.

According to God’s promises a mother’s womb shall be blessed with the fruit of the womb at the appointed time by the help of the Lord.

What does pregnancy represent in the bible?

According to the bible, pregnancy gives mankind the privilege of participating in the process of activating life which was done when God breathed on the first man (Adam).

It is through the process of pregnancy that man taps into the grace of being fruitful when it comes to dominating the earth.

Proverbs 17:6 “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children” reminds us that while parents are the pride of children because they are the reason why children existed, so are children a crown to the parents because they are a continuation of the promise of creation between God and humanity.

Bible verses for unexpected pregnancy

Listed below are powerful bible verses that will help you with an understanding of what God’s word says about unexpected pregnancy.

Exodus 21:22

“If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows”.

This verse of the bible spoke against every form of violent act that would result in the death of the child of a pregnant woman due to an unexpected delivery of the child stating that this act is against the law of God because it breaks the promise of creation between God and mankind due to an abortion of the child who according to God has a preordained purpose on earth to fulfill.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

“It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God”.

This verse speaks against every form of act that would lead to an unexpected pregnancy as a result of fornication and adultery because they defile the body making it unholy which makes the body uncomfortable for the Holy Spirit to dwell.

The verse advices that you desist from lust because that is the catalyst for an unexpected pregnancy as a result of defiling the body.

Bible verses about pregnancy before marriage

With the help of the following beautiful bible verses, you will come to the understanding of what the bible says about pregnancy before marriage which will help you on the right paths.

Genesis 16

This chapter of the bible consisting of 16 verses opens us the limitation of pregnancy outside marriage using the experience between Sarai and her maidservant Hagar.

Sarai, unable to bear a child for Abram requested that he lay with Hagar so she could bear a child for him in order to continue his legacy on earth. Hagar, on getting laid by Abram got pregnant for him and out of jealousy; Sarai chased her away from the house.

This simply shows that getting pregnant outside marriage exposes a lady to insecurity because marriage provides the covenant of security by a man to his wife; the woman.

This simply means pregnancy outside marriage could result in the practice of a single parent having to raise the child as seen in Hagar who had to raise her child alone without the child’s father which is not the original intention of God as pertains child bearing.

1 Corinthians 7:2

“But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife and each woman with her own husband”.

This verse speaks against the act of sexual immorality which is a sin and can lead to unwanted pregnancy. The word of God advices that if you must be involved in sexual related activity, it has to be within the covenant of marriage.

For the bible states that a man and woman shall leave their parents and be joined together as one through marriage. Sex initiates the bondage of marriage where two become one.

Bible verses getting pregnant

Listed below are favorite verses from the bible that speaks about getting pregnant

Deuteronomy 22: 28-29

“If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her.

He can never divorce her as long as he lives”. This verse opens up the revelation of rape. It states that a man who commits rape because of lack of self control with a lady he is not betrothed to will have to marry her for he has defiled her original status of being a virgin and for no reason will he divorce her for the act that initiated the marriage is one that cannot be broken.

1 Corinthians 7:3-4

“The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife”.

The bible states that while marriage is the only act that makes sex legal, both the husband and wife have to fulfil their marital responsibility which is for child bearing as ordained by God.

The main reason for sex is for the procreation of children and any of the partner who does not keep to this covenant has committed sin. On getting married, both individuals become one which means the husband owns the body of the wife and vice versa.

1 Corinthians 7:36

“If anyone is worried that he might not be acting honorably toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if his passions are too strong and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married”.

This verse advice that only marriage is the covenant that allows pregnancy. And for no reason should a man that engages a lady allow his passion to satisfy his human desire prompt him to fornicate. This is a reminder to young men that sex outside marriage is a sin.

Bible verses for anxiety during pregnancy

Listed below are powerful bible verses that will help pregnant women with an understanding of what God’s word says about having anxiety during pregnancy.

Psalm 55:22

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken”.

This verse of the bible is a reminder that God is a sustainer and a giver of hope when anxiety and worries as a result of uncertainty due to the outcome of the pregnancy.

As long as you live a righteous life in accordance to the principles of the kingdom, the peace of God will sustain and ensure you are not shaken by the difficulties that come due to pregnancy

Isaiah 41:10

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.

This is also a reminder from God that he is always with you in your time of pregnancy as a pregnant woman to ensure safe delivery most especially at the hour of labour. He will grant strength and ensure you are lifted by his hand to ensure you’re victorious.

Psalm 56:3

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you”. This is a prayer you can offer to God as a pregnant woman reminding him as a God of hope whom you trust in to relieve you of your fears to avoid bad news.

Bible verses on pregnancy and safe delivery

By the power of Christ which grants perfect peace at hours of labour in pregnant women, there are favorite verses that captures the word of God on a healthy pregnancy as an expectant mother. These verses reminds pregnant women about God’s promises to them

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

God informs you of his original plan from the time of creation that as long as you have decided to keep to his will, he will ensure you come out of the labour room victorious, sound and strong.

Isaiah 40: 29-31

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.

This is an assurance that the Lord is with you to give you strength when you are short of it that you will be energized to carry out your own share of the responsibility in the labour room while trying to deliver a baby

Exodus 1:19

“The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive”.

God informs you of the covenant he has made with the Hebrew women that they deliver without stress or worry. He assured you that this covenant is also available for you to key into at your point of delivery.

Conclusion

This article informs you about your stand in the kingdom of God as his vessel on earth. The power of Christ which gave him a triumphant victory on earth is the same power we are given access to by the power of the Holy spirit which is in us the children of God.

The promises of God states that no woman is made barren because according to his promises we are meant to fulfil the creation purpose on earth.

As an expectant mother, you can key your faith into that of Hannah and become victorious on your path to having your baby child. For prayer and faith is key to attaining victory in the kingdom of God.

Also the word of God speaks against every form of unexpected pregnancy as a result of sexual immorality which has resulted in a high rate of abortion among the youths. If you must have sex, then you should get married. For sex leaves a bond between you and the partner who is involved in the act.

Imagine sharing a bond with several partners who go about having pieces of you in them. That makes you incomplete as a human being thereby causing you to cheat on your original partner destined by God for you.

Today, make a decision to desist from sexual immorality and walk in the ways of the Lord that you may be purposeful in the kingdom of God.
